In this study, we developed a new model for civics lessons to deepen students' understanding of "Happiness, Justice, and Fairness"
First, we analyzed previous civics lessons on "Trans-Science" problems (radiation problems, global warming) from the viewpoint of "Science, Technology, and Society" (STS).
Then we applied STS principles to design new social studies lessons on the topic of minimum wage systems.
Although social studies lessons have been based on the public acceptance model, we have introduced the interactive public understanding of science model to construct a new social studies lesson model.
We implemented this new model, and the analysis of the results suggested the possibility of the model's positive effects.
