The Establishment and Development of Homemaking Education in Japan under the Occupation (XV) : Analysis on Image of CIE Educational Film, "FOR A BRIGHT HOME LIFE"
Abstract
In Japan under the occupation CIE of GHQ/SCAP producted and presented a lot of educational films to renew the mind of Japanese people. This report clears the features of CIE educational film, "FOR A BRIGHT HOME LIFE" which dealed with home project method in secondary homemaking education and kitchen improvement in the city house and farm. The results were as follows: 1. CIE tried to work for the improvement of Japanese kitchen and the diffusion of the new educational method, "home project" through the production and presentation of film, "FOR A BRIGHT HOME LIFE" which was produced by CIE educationist, M. Williamson. 2. The assertion of the Agricultural Improvement Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on the kitchen improvement was included into the film. 3. This study proved the excellence of the play and the image of "FOR A BRIGHT HOME LIFE".
