Yoshimoto Banana's 'expression of sense' is based on human five senses (seeing, hearing, smelling, tasting, touching). And her 'expression of sense' seems to be connected to the theme of her works by describing or implying mood, consciousness and feeling. 'Expression of sense' can reveal the individuality of a writer more than any other lingual expression because it is based on human subjectivity. In that point of view, I considered how her 'expression of sense'(which intend to bring great effect of expression) can show the theme in her works by analyzing her four works quantitatively. Also, I paid attention to her similes and metaphores in her works to study her unique expressions that describe sensuous nuances subtlely. As stated before, the purpose of this article is to examine the unique structure of her works by considering 'Expression of sense' in her works.
