Applied Researches as Social Service of Hiroshima University
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the outcomes and issues of applied researches as social service offered by Hiroshima University in these 5 years. The findings are as follows. (1) The community people recognize the applied researches as useful services offered by Hiroshima University, and give approval toward the continuation of them. (2) But, there seems to be some difficulties that applied researches have faced. So raising several point, the first issue have connection with administration, more specifically, procedures of proposal and presentation, the term and budget for applied researches, and so on. (3) The second issue is due to the lack of matching system, which coordinates the expert knowledge and research of the faculty with the needs of community people. (4) It is the third issue as to diverse ideas on applied researches. We need definite concept and stable vision about applied researches as social service of the University.
