The present study examined the needs for social skills education of elementary and junior high school teachers, and junior high school students. The results were summarized as follows. (1) The top three skills that elementary school teachers selected for targets in social skills education were empathy, assertion, and emotional regulation. (2) The top three skills that junior high school teachers selected for targets in social skills education were problem solving, empathy, and emotional regulation. (3) Elementary school teachers thought that social skills education should be implemented more in junior high school than in elementary school, but junior high school teachers thought that social skills education should be implemented in the course of elementary school. (4) Junior high school students wanted to learn social skills such as emotional regulation, problem solving, and warm message.
