A Study on the Social Changes and Higher Education Policy in China

Abstract
Since the 1980s, along with the implementation of reform and opening policy, great changes have taken place in China. The single administrative and financing system under the planned economy transferred to a multiple one. Centralized administrative system was replaced by a more decentralized one, which expands greatly the autonomy of universities. The multiple financial resources for higher education were developed. The efficiency of university management was also improved dramatically. Moreover, Educational laws and regulations were strengthened. In a word, the improvement of educational policies promotes the development of Chinese higher education.
