Abstract
Instructional research from the perspective of linguistics is considered. In 1972, the concept of educational linguistics are proposed by Bernard Spolsky. At first, it is subfield of linguistics like educational psychology or educational sociology. Today it is conceived as transdisciplinary field. It focused the role of language in teaching-learning process. From linguistic perspective, especially Gunther Kress's point of view, teachinglearning process can be regarded as multi-modal rhetorical process. where children's writing is conceived by the concept of genre.
