The purpose of this study was to explore the effectiveness and possibilities of applying mental training to avoid stage fright in music performance. The investigation of 59 music major students was conducted. The results showed that most students recognized the importance of psychological factors to maximize their performance during musical performance. Nevertheless, few students adopted psychological content consciously in their usual practice. The study findings indicated that it was important for music performers to gain knowledge in mental training and to apply mental training consciously in usual practice. This will be an effective approach for improving the technical aspects.
