An exotic freshwater planarian, Girardia tigrina was collected from Kurose River, Higashihiroshima City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. This species was originally described from the Continent of North America and it's distribution have been spread all over the world by human activity. This is the first record of G. tigrina from Hiroshima Prefecture. Girardia tigrina is identified by the following features: body surface and pharynx with pigmented patches, relatively developed auricle, and eyespots closely located.
