Development and Issues of Media Education in Contemporary Japan : Some considerations on the revision process toward 1998 Course of Study

Abstract
In this paper, the developing process of media education in Japan was clarified through examining 1998 Course of Study in Japan. And, Highlighting the relationship between the 1998 Course of Study in Japan and any contemporary Japanese language instructions, I suggested that there were any issues of media education in Japanese language instruction. In conclusion, Any tasks to overcome a barrier for implementing media education under the new 2008 Course of Study in Japan were pointed out.
