Indonesian language has a prefix called[meN-]. It is one of the important prefixes in Indonesian language. In this research, various usages and functions are studied. Result of the study show that prefix[meN-]is able to change a basic form of a word into a derivative verb. Prefixing any words with[meN-]would require a minor spelling change (inflection) in order to facilitate a smooth transition in pronunciation. The inflection is based solely on the first letter of the original word. Furthermore, in spoken language, because of the influence of regional dialect, prefix[meN-]is abbreviation. It is necessary to teach this prefix to Japanese learning Indonesia language. On the other hand, in order to comprehensively understande the meaning of active voice in Indonesian language.
