Direction of Housing Landscape Research in Japan

Abstract
There are many studies on the townscape, rural landscape, and housing landscape in Japan conducted by researchers from different disciplines. However, there are limited comprehensive studies on the direction of housing landscape research across various fields. Concern over the formation of a good landscape has risen recently. Therefore, a thorough understanding of the reality of the housing landscape is required. In this article, I discuss a housing landscape perspective, the aim of the formation of a housing landscape, and the problem of the direction of housing landscape research across various fields.
