The aim of this study is to clear relation and difference between school music curricula published at federal state level and each school level. In Germany several federal states have revised school curricula based on competence model since national educationstandards (Bildungsstandards) were announced. Each of the schools has an obligation to follow the federal state curricula to give lessons. However, each of the schools usually prepares and draws up original school curricula to realize music lessons. This study deals with secondary education (Gymnasium) in federal state Baden-Württemberg as an object. As the results of comparison with federal state music curricula, the characteristics of school curricula in Baden-Württemberg are pointed out; (1) the core of scholastic ability which students must acquire by graduating school is rewritten in detail and this helps school display originality; (2) some themes are set and stressed in each grade; (3) it is considered that standards are distributed appropriately between consecutive grades; (4) original standards which are not fixed in federal state curricula are added.
