Abstract
The on-site training for high-school students in the Takehara Marine Science Station of Hiroshima University roused their interest in the sea. As a result, some reconsidered their careers. The training may make way for students towards biological careers. The early-morning tour to observe marine organisms deepened exchanges between children and parents, families and the local people, and the college students and the local people. It seems that the local people recognize the significance of the sea around experientially from our activities. Although there are differences between two programs, "the on-site training for highschool students in the Takehara Marine Science Station of Hiroshima University" and "the early-morning tour to observe marine organisms", the participants learn the sea is an immediate natural environment and become more aware of various aspects of the sea environment from our programs. We would like to provide the experience-centered type of education for students and people in the region in the future.
