Abstract
This study aimed to clarify teacher trainees' views of science teaching and to discuss formation and change of their views through questionnaire research at the beginning and the end of the lecture 'Teaching of Elementary School Science I', The findings were the followings ; (1) At the beginning of the lecture most teacher trainees held views of science teaching based on their own experiences in school education from elementary to secondary, and many of them positively evaluated their experiences. But the end of the lecture the number of those trainees decreased. (2) Teacher trainees' views of science teaching changed in several points during the lecture, and it was supposed that the lecture gave chances for the trainees to reflect their views. (3) It was implied that there might be teacher trainees who held firm views of science teaching already at the beginning of the lecture.
