This study aims to examine the right of self-determination based on Article 13 of the Constitution as a new right. Specifically, students argued the pros and cons of admitting "organ transplantation" in Japan, and of certifying "brain death" as human death. Through legal experiential situations, they could also consider a necessity that a patient him/herself must determine the death judgment, and as premises for it, the patient should be given and explained enough information by doctor, then he/she should express his/her own will. In result they could understand that to grasp the facts, to put their thoughts in order by thinking more and making judgment, and to determine their own ideas, comparing with other opinions and restructuring their thoughts would lead to create better society. Implications of this study are discussed to develop curriculum to foster students' regal mind more effectively as challenges for the future.
