In this study, I investigated the word ʔimori that is equivalent to irassharu in the common language. ʔimori is the most frequently used honorific verb in Tatsugouchoura dialect and it functions as a main verb and an auxiliary. These two separate usages were compared with their correspondences in the common language in terms of generation difference. As a result, I found that the middle generation had a tendency to simplify the meaning and the usage of the ʔimori while the old generation had a tendency to maintain the traditional usage.
