Doctoral program in learning and curriculum development as a branch of graduate school of education in Hiroshima University had started in 1997. Therefore, doctoral program in learning and curriculum development is a relatively recent department at the University. In this short period, however, our department has grown rapidly. This is evident from the publication of research bulletins. It is anticipated that research bulletin readers will increase in the future, with the development of institutional repository. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to overview research bulletin in which is the journal of learning and curriculum development, and the journal of learning science. Concretely, we describe the each research contents in the two journals, examine these features and research bulletin output. The results of this study, the typical changes have been shown to occur in these Journals. In addition, it has been shown that institutional repository is to contribute to increasing the readers of research bulletin. On the basis of this study’s results and our department’s histories, we discussed the development of the journal of learning science.
