Abstract
This study aimed to examine teacher trainees' thought about learning to teach elementary science before and after the lecture including trial teaching. The findings were mainly the followings; (1) In the teaching competence of science, particularly high sense of needs for teacher trainees at the start of the lecture was the knowledge and ability related to making lesson plan as well as the knowledge and ability of concrete methods of lesson practice. (2) Particularly high sense of accomplishment of learning for teacher trainees at the end of the lecture was the knowledge and ability related to making lesson plan. (3) At the end of the lecture teacher trainees had a high sense of accomplishment of learning and high needs of learning to understand and suppose actual situation of students. These sense and needs are considered to lead to more effective learning for teaching practice in elementary schools.
