Abstract
Survey of the singing voice of 4-5-year-old children was carried out in a nursery school on August 2nd and November 15th. In the survey, 5 songs were sung by all the members in each age class. Singing voice of each child was recorded on the IC recorder which was attached to each child and was analyzed. At the survey in August, both 4 and 5-year-old classes had two songs with D5 as the highest pitch. In September, both classes exercised one song with C4 as the highest pitch and 4 songs with B4 or lower pitch. In October, plays like “Call one’s name game” and “Singing game of insect or animal” were additionally introduced to the exercises. The pitches and rhythms of these plays were set as A4-G4-A4-V and Tan - Tan - Tan - * ( ♩♩♩*). As a result, both 4 and 5-year-old children’s singing skill was significantly improved.
