Abstract
The purpose of this study is to clarify the view of observation and to get suggestions how observations should be in science learning. This study clarified that most of the senior high school students in the first grade and the teacher trainees have a following point of view; In science learning it often happens that observation results of learners are different from those of which teachers expect and learners cannot observe what teachers can. This is not because of the gap of aims and techniques between science teachers and learners, but because of science teachers' enough knowledge and experiences for the observation. Finally this study implies that whether science teachers recognize the view that the observation is not only the learning activity using one's senses fully, but also the learning activity closely concerned with the knowledge and concepts, might be a key point of improving science teaming.
