Abstract
The purpose of this paper was to investigate the vocal range of students in early childcare practical training school between standing and sitting postures, in order to improve the singing ability in singing with playing the piano.
Making a comparison between singing in standing posture and sitting posture, there was not the personal equation in both high and low tone zone, on the whole: students could vocalize easier in standing posture than sitting posture in both high and low tone zone. Then, there was no obvious difference in vocal range in high tone zone in sitting posture, no matter how experienced she was in playing the piano. These results suggest that it is necessary to increase the opportunity to sing in standing posture. Therefore, it is emphasized that singing-centered piano classes are important, and cooperation between piano classes and vocal classes is required.
