The researches in the information retrieval indicated that browsings are succeeded when information searchers would have the specific purposes of their information searches, and would know the keywords they enter and the systems they use. The researchers have discussed about the browsings of published information, but have not discussed about the browsings of the information in the Internet information search environment. In addition, they explained the importance of serendipity for browsings, but did not find the reasons of its occurrences. In this study, the factors for successful browsings in the Internet information search environment, and whether the Internet information search environment is applicable for browsings or not are disucussed. The results revealed two factors for successful browsings; the first is that information searchers need to acknowledge their interests of search topics, and the second is that information searchers need to identify the information acting as a serendipity. Since there are many pictures and motion pictures in the Internet information search environment, information searchers can acknowledge their interests easily. However, since they crick and/or move mouse pointers fast, they may choose insufficient information. It would be essential if information searchers activate their metacognition in order to acknowledge their interests, identify the serendipity, and avoid selecting insufficient information. For further study, it is necessary to use the correct methods to analyze the searches' search process and protocols. In addition, it is necessary to collect more data, and to categorize and code them. It would be effective if subjects are divided into two groups and their browsings are compared.
