This paper describes the trends and the prospects of the vocational education reforms (VET-reforms) in Switzerland and else where in Europe. In Europe, vocational education reforms are performed as four strategies. The most radical reform is a strategy that aims to do away with the distinction between general education and vocational education. These reforms are performed according to the conditions of each country. In vocational education reform, apprenticeship-models and dual systems are still regard highly, and the manner in which they are handled in the educational system is at issue.
