Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a case study which describes a student's behavior transformation and learning through the author=teacher's creative dance classes. The descriptions in this study were made from careful observation of the changes of a student's behavior in classes and relied on “action research" as a method of analysis. In the action research,a teacher becomes researcher and she conducts research on her own teaching. The notation “author=teacher" shows such characteristic of action research. This paper focused the attention on a student who had problems with human relations in the author=teacher's creative dance classes. The process of the behavior transformation of the student in four time classes was described. At the end the student could join the group and participated in the dance performance in which the theme of the creative dance was their experiences of school trip to Hokkaido. This paper took up the broad conception of learning as dialogues with the object-world, the self and the others. These three aspects of learning were searched in the student's behavior transformation in the creative dance classes. Although the learning of the student was not so simple, we could find the intersection of the learning and evaluate the learning of the student and the author=teacher's creative dance classes as well. However, we clearly have to continue these kinds of description on the classes as case study and action research.
