The weakness of media literacy education methods is that they are inclined toward mass media analysis and/or mass media experience and do not include personal experiences of the learners. In order to overcome this weakness, we have to include the personal interests of learners in learning activities. But, all 4 learners disagreed with Yamada's opinion, reporting that captions are desirable. To avoid such a result, media literacy education methods should offer the opportunity for dialogue among persons who hold opposing opinions. This dialogue (the process of "understanding" the other) should be ongoing.
