This study aims to clarify the possibility of artistic inquiry-based learning in arts and crafts studies by focusing on these activities. This study focuses on a new trend in recent years, Arts-Based Research (ABR), and examines how conventional learning in arts and crafts can be transformed by adopting the ABR concepts and practices.
Consequently, the study revealed that artistic inquiry-based learning activities are one way to realize independent learning including self-reflective learning, and that they are a framework for interactive and generative learning activities based on the curiosity of children and teachers. In addition, evaluation based on visual narratives was proposed as a method of assessment.
