In Japan, the number of eating disorders in adolescent female is rapidly increasing. Through review researches, it was found that many psychological and sociocultural factors influenced the drive for thinness and problematic eating behavior. It was also found that self-esteem has the strongest influence on drive for thinness, and body dissatisfaction related to the drive for thinness directly. Other factors like perfectionism are also influence the drive for thinness.
