In this study, I developed a performance task intended to evaluate the thinking, judgment, and expression of my students appropriately and performed practice in science lessons by using it. I prepared a task and rubric to evaluate the quality of my students’ learning. I also tried to introduce active learning into my student’s activities, and considered whether my students could develop their understanding and thinking by producing a recognition process. In my practice of the unit “Continuity of Life”, I clarified that my students understood the task and rubric, and were able to complete the task by relating their own scientific knowledge to the evidence that they obtained from their experiment. I also showed that my students were able to understand and think deeply by producing a recognition process in my lessons.
