Abstract
The purpose of this study was to clarify what kind of works Hokkaido District Committee on Science Curriculum had concretely in postwar Japan. Through the documentary records, the following results were reached: (1) “Science study book for elementary school student in Hokkaido” (1948) published by Hokkaido District Committee on Science Curriculum was written in the form of questions accelerating student's activities. (2) Although in the above study book rabbits, rices, potetoes, frogs, cabbage butterflies, etc. were used for teaching materials as well as“ Science for elementary school student” (1948) published by the Ministry of Education, there were “Ezogaeru”, “Ezosanshouo”, etc. indigenous to Hokkaido in that study book. (3) As“ Report on observation and experiment” (1948) applied correspondingly to“ Science for elementary school student” satisfied “Objectives of understandings” (1947) compiled by Advisory Committee on Science Curriculum,“ Science study book for elementary school student in Hokkaido” didn't satisfy them.
