This paper aims to clarify the effectiveness of repeated curriculum in foreign language activities in a combined grade class.
In order to investigate this, performance test results of listening and speaking were compared between combined grade class students and single grade class students.
As a result, there was no significant difference in the performance test results of listening and speaking between the 4th graders in the single grade class and the 4th graders in the combined grade class. In addition, the significant difference was not found when the listening test results of the 4th graders in the single grade class with those of the 3rd graders in the combined grade class were compared. On the other hand, the 3rd graders' average score of speaking was lower than that of the 4th graders in the single grade class. Considering that 3rd graders study the same content the following year, these results suggest that the repeated curriculum is effective.
