Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the role of the Course of Study that has been revised in Showa35 in terms of the history of KANBUN (Chinese classics) education. The proposal to which the Course of Study responded includes the following two points: (1) KANBUN is positioned as a classic. Therefore, the study of KANBUN is separate along with the study of other Japanese classics. (2) Kakikudashibun (The sentence which translated classic Chinese into classic Japanese) is used, and the contents are studied in depth. The result was that (1) was accepted and (2) was not accepted. The method of the study of KANBUN is therefore continued.
