Abstract
By using the state anxiety scale, the present state and wish fulfillment were investigated in order to determine the mitigating effect wish fulfillment has on anxiety and to investigate the relationships between a wish and anxiety. Anxiety, before and after wish fulfillment, was measured using the state anxiety scale. As a result of first examining the difference between the average value of individuals' state anxiety score was seen. Next, according to the kind of wish, the change in the state anxiety score before and after wish fulfillment was considered. Consequently, a significant reduction in the state anxiety score was seen in the wish group regardig the ""future"", ""general need"", ""self-change"", ""love relationship"", and ""actual problem"", The results of this research indicate that wish fulfillment has a mitigating effect on anxiety.
