This study aims to teach sixth-grade children of an elementary school to roll backward stably by teaching them to push their body up from a backward roll to a still handstand, a technique not included in the Elementary Course of Study. The study revealed the following. First, children who could not perform a backward roll were able to understand the timing involved in pushing up their body. Second, they could roll by picking up speed and tum head over heels smoothly by stretching their legs. Third, skillful children were able to perform a better backward roll by performing the backward roll to still handstand.
