An Analysis of a Supreme Court Decision about the Prefectural District-based Electoral System for the House of Councillors in Japan
Abstract
This article discusses the relation between the prefectural district-based electoral system and the vote-value disparities among districts in the House of Councillors Election in Japan. In this article, I analyze a Supreme Court Case in 2017 and indicate the importance of the prefectural district-based electoral system in the upper house.
