Abstract
The present study aimed to examine the perceptions of technology teachers regarding the 2008 version of the Course of Study. Subjects were three technology teachers at lower secondary school in Hiroshima prefecture. Data were evaluated using PAC analysis, and the personal perceptions of each subject were placed into a dendrogram using cluster analysis. The results revealed that technology teachers are anxiety about teaching material with which they lack experience, apprehensive about teaching guidance and positive attitudes about the revision and discrepancies between educational theory and practice in the new Course of Study. Common complaints about the new Course of Study included the lack of adequate instructional hours despite an increase in compulsory contents and anxiety about preparation and adjustment of instructional guidelines for new compulsory contents in agricultural technology. Positive perceptions about new Course of Study included the modification of technology about information related learning contents constructed to production learning.
