Michiyo NAGAYO (formerly OKADA) is a woman writer from Hiroshima who is known as the model of "Futon", the novel written by Katai TAYAMA. She wrote novels and many girls' novels and translated novels during the period from the end of Meiji era to the end of Taisho era, but has not got a fair evaluation because of the strong bias by "Futon".
In order to revaluate Michiyo without bias, I searched for her works and found 5 individual writings, 1 collective writing, about 200 works in newspapers and magazines, and 10 unpublished manuscripts. In this study I presented the list of Michiyo's literary works and generalized characteristics of them in each period. There is a great possibility her other works will be found and the number of works will be increased in the future, but this is the first time such a large number of her works are found at once and this will be valuable data to study the birth of woman writers in Meiji and Taisho eras as well as to study Katai TAYAMA.
