Liang Qichao lived in exile in Japan for 14 years from 1898 to 1912. During his stay in Japan, he wrote numerous articles and books, most of which were published in journals he founded. However, Renyinxinmincongbaohuibian and Yinbingshiwenjileibian are special cases, which were edited by a Japanese named Shimokawabe Hangoro and published in Tokyo in 1904. Focusing on these two books that have not received much attention, the paper investigates the publishing house of the two books, Teikoku Printing Co., LTD., the editor, and Liang Qichao’s related works during the same period, so as to figure out the editing and publication status of these two books and their influence on the later collections of Liang Qichao’s works and get a glimpse of the publication of Liang Qichao’s works during his early life of exile in Japan.
