喜多院御室守覚法親王の口頭語資料 : 随心院蔵野決鈔の仮名交じり表記の文章を中心に

本稿は、院政期末から鎌倉時代初頭に仁和寺を中心として、多くの撰述書を今に残し、文化的な活動が著しかった守覚法親王の著作の内、随心院蔵野決鈔を主たる資料として取り上げて論じたものである。野決鈔は、醍醐寺勝賢との諸尊法に関する問答を記した資料で、当時の他の現存資料からは、一般的であるとは思えない漢字・片仮名・平仮名・万葉仮名交じり文で書記された文章を持つ。勝賢の「答」の言語を視野に入れつつ、主として守覚の「問」を対象に、野決鈔に書記された日本語の特性を検討した。

検討の結果、守覚の「問」の文章は、厳密には書記言語ではあるが、守覚の意識としては、自身の口頭語を記したと認められる資料で、そのために採用した表記体であったと考えられる。言語の内実も、当時の口頭語を書記した資料と見て矛盾がなく、当時の口頭語の範疇の再検討、個々人による言語体系差など、極めて重要な課題を提供する資料であることが判明した。

In this paper, Yaketsushō owned by Zuishin-in Temple is discussed. It was written by the prolific writer Shukaku Priest Imperial Prince, who took an active part in and around Ninna-ji Temple at the beginning of the Kamakura Era, during a time of behind-the-curtain politics by a retired emperor. Yaketsushō was written in the form of a question-and-answer dialogue between Shukaku and Shōken "勝賢" at Daigo-ji Temple. It uses a mixture of katakana, hiragana and manyōgana, which was unusual at that time. We mainly discuss the characteristics of the Japanese language in the "questions" Shukaku asked often referring to the "answers" by Shōken. Shukaku tried to represent the colloquial style in his "questions" by using unique ways of writing, although the language in "questions" may be categorized, strictly speaking, as written language.

Consequently, the colloquial language used by Shukaku in "questions" is to be found parallel to that in other materials at that time. Thus Yaketsushō provides invaluable linguistic material, which provides us with the chance to reexamine the colloquial range and linguistic differences in individual usage at the beginning of the Kamakura Era.
