The particles are classified by functions. The following four functions can be set in dialect particles in the Tsukenzima Dialect, a local language used in the Tsukenzima island which is located in 5 kilometers southeast of the Okinawa main island: A) Commanding Function (This function acts to generalize and justify the whole sentence by receiving the previous noun and leading to the predicate verb. It is considered to be a frame of the sentence and a center in the particle system.); B) Modifying Function (This function modifies functions under the rule of the commanding function.); C) Connecting Function (This function acts to connect sentence and sentence.); D) Affective Function(This function expresses speaker's feelings.) Above four functions can be divided into two categories: "Commanding Function and Connecting Function" and "Modifying Function and Affective Function. " The former plays a role in organizing a sentence logically and the latter takes charge in modifying a sentence. Moreover, it is considered that the "Modifying Function" is deeply related to the part of the "reason" like judgment, and the "Affective Function" is related to the expression of the feeling.
