Abstract
In this thesis, I analyzed student information of Hiroshima Bunrika University during the prewar Showa era. The results of this analysis showed that 60% of the students were incumbent teachers. Until now, Hiroshima Bunrika University had been considered a “teacher training university”. However, if a majority of the students were incumbent teachers, it could be said that Hiroshima Bunrika University was a re-educational institution. In addition, I found that Hiroshima Bunrika University students were enthusiastic about studying, had good job hunting experiences, and that there were few retirees and dropouts. These points should be understood as characteristics of a re-educational institution for incumbent teachers.
