Abstract
This report examined in the generation when the Song China medical book “Kaiho Jute Honzo 開宝重定本草” was imported in Japan and the person who used it in the original of “Kojisyo 香字抄” and the social background.
“Kaiho Jute Honzo” were imported at the latter half of eleventh century by Japan after about one century passed from publication. It was Koremune no Toshimichi 惟宗俊通 introduced the book, and his families were disciples of Tamba 丹波 who was the Imperial Court doctor.
But, The book which Koremune on Toshimichi was able to obtain from the Chinese merchant was an incomplete set. It was not the times when he could receive the Chinese sciences of the same period yet if he hoped. In addition, their knowledge of sciences were initiated into for each house. Therefore the motive that Tamba who had already established the position of the doctor at Imperial Court accepted new knowledge was poor. So the new knowledge was received by Koremune who was a new medical doctor.
