知的障害のある児童が運動を楽しみ、自ら考え行動する力を育成する体育科の授業 : 「 プレイ体育論」における「遊び」の視点を取り入れた授業の検討

本研究は、知的障害のある児童が運動を楽しみ、自ら考え行動する力を育成するため、「プレイ体育論」における「遊び」の視点を取り入れた授業について、知的障害特別支援学校における実践をもとに検討したものである。知的障害特別支援学校小学部の児童は、体育科の授業において、運動の技能を身に付けたとしても、運動に対する苦手意識が大きい上、運動を楽しむことができていなかったり、やらされたりしていることが課題である。体育科において、走り幅跳びの授業を展開すると、走り幅跳びの技能を身に付けた児童の振り返りから、「できる」ことが、運動の楽しさにつながっていないことが分かった。そこで、授業改善を行い、「遊び」の視点を取り入れた授業を実施した。改善した授業の結果、「プレイ体育論」における「遊び」の視点を取り入れた授業は、知的障害のある児童が運動を楽しみ、自ら考え行動することができると分かった。

The present study examines a physical education class aimed at building the capacity of children with intellectual disabilities to enjoy exercises and to think and act autonomously, based on educational practices at the special needs education school for intellectual disabilities. Primary school students in the special needs education school for intellectual disabilities have a strong awareness that they are not good at doing exercise and at the same time, do not enjoy exercises, which is an issue to be addressed. Students’ self-reflections revealed that despite acquiring skills in physical education class, simply “being able” did not lead to greater enjoyment of the exercises. Therefore, to improve physical education classes, we incorporated the concept of “play” into the class. As a result of implementing this concept, it was revealed that physical education classes in which the concept of play in “physical education as play education” is incorporated, enables children with intellectual disabilities to enjoy exercising and to think and act autonomously.
