Abstract |
An octaiodobiscavitand was synthesized via an aromatic Finkelstein iodination reaction in good yield. Sonogashira and Suzuki coupling reactions of the octaiodobiscavitand gave rise to upper-rim-functionalized biscavitands that self-assembled to form a supramolecular polymer in the solid state.
