Those kimono gowns were made in Japan in the Meiji era. Craftsmen used high-quality silks and embroidered the flowers and birds on them. There were few articles which they could export to the world from Japan in the Meiji era. Embroidered silk kimono gowns were valuable export items of Japan. They were liked by European and American. Japanese Government was able to get much money. The export of silk and kimonos helped the modernization of Japan. The Japanese culture of embroidered silk and kimono was accepted by Westerner and an American. A lot of beautiful kimono gowns were sent to Europe and America from Yokohama.
