The Survey of Regional Private University Students' Ideas about Being Employed

In recent year, many universities have employment supports and career education for students. In response to this gain of momentum, many survey studies about employment and career supports for students have examined. But, student's ideas about these supports have not been examined well. To provide more fulfilling employment and career supports for students, the study of student' ideas about these supports are needed. Particularly, regional private universities emphasize employment support and career education for students to acquire enrolled students. But, they do not understand student's ideas about these supports. Therefore, in this paper, regional private university student's ideas about employment and career supports will be discussed by focusing on the need and satisfaction to the supports. And on this analysis, to consider diversity of universities, not making regional private universities generalized, the each of university student's ideas about employment and career supports will be discussed. For object of analysis, private A University, private E University, and national F University's second-year and third-year students are selected. The result show that students are highly concerned with the job, and so that they need to acquire the skills for jobs throughout college life. Thus, they need the support for acquiring such skills to university, but their satisfaction to the support is low. Furthermore, the result show that student' ideas about being employed are different in the case of universities, private A University students are lower concerned with the job, and the needs for support are lower than the two other university students. The differences of student' ideas about being employed at each university may be cause by practices agreeable to actual conditions of each university students are provided of students or not.
