Abstract
We propose that students should develop "the ability to learn by focusing on similarities." "The ability to learn by focusing on similarities" is the potential to find similar elements among different things, situations, or phenomena, and then to associate or analogize them with each another. This skill enables us to apply the knowledge developed in a certain genre to another one, thereby leading to "cognitive fluidity" and "bricoleur."

In this practice, we encourage students to read Japanese classical literature. And we encourage them to write fictional stories and their own experiences that are similar to the content of the classical story. Students read to each other and look for similarities between their writing and the classical story. These are experiences that connect the events by analogy. I think these experiences train the thought that you connect when you understand things, that you have experienced, and what you have learned.
