Abstract
The crystalline schists of this area belong to the Sangun metamorphic groups, which are the metamorphic equivalent of the Chichibu palaeozoic groups.
They consist of black-schists, sandy schists, quartz-schists and green-schists.
on the basing of the original rock species of crystalline schists, the geological map has been drawn.
According to the stratigraphical and lithological characters, the Sangu metamorphic groups in the region are divided as follows:
[Original table is skipped. For more details, please refer to the full text.]
The crystalline schists of this area belong mostly to the chlorite zone, and locally to the biotite zone characterizing the more advanced stage of metamorphism.
