Abstract
The direction, the length of the longest dimension of elongated calcite grains, and the normal to it have been measured on each sector in nine columns on ac-profile in a folded calcareous schist layer interbedded in spotted pelitic schist. The results are shown in diagrams (Figs. 2 to 10). From the diagrams, mean directions of the longest dimension and the normal to it have been determined. The pattern of distribution of the directions of the longest dimension and its normal is quite similar to the stress pattern of a buckling beam.
