Nabekura mine is being worked for a pyrophyllite deposit found in rhyolitic rocks. The dumortierite is violet in colour, and is disseminated in a light greenish impure pyrophyllite ore or piercing it as a small quartz-dumortierite vein. The form of the dumortierite is prismatic and it usually occurs as radial aggregates.
